The currency is in pounds and cents in the same denominations as the British pounds and pence, driving is on the left, electricity is 240v using 3-pin plugs and telecommunication services are good. No vaccinations are required and both public and private healthcare services are of a high standard.
An ideal all year round resort with beautiful beaches where you can sunbathe, snorkel, scuba or sail. The swimming season starts in early April and doesn't really end until November.
For the golfer there are three spectacular 18 hole courses within 20 minutes drive of Paphos.
Cyprus is the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, and has many Places of Interest including cultural and historical sites such as the Tomb of the Kings and Aphrodite's Rock. While the Greek culture prevails, around 80% of the population speak English. All of the street, directional and shop signs are written in English too.
Explore the Akamas Peninsular or the Troodos Mountains, where you can hike and bike or look for the many species of birds and flowers. In the Winter months you can ski in the mountains and swim in the Mediterranean on the same day!
Travel time is approx. 4 hours by plane from most airports. Car hire is easy and they drive on the LEFT!!!
